Biography:
The short-sized, quick and high-flying Evan Bourne has impressed the WWE Universe with his speed and agility and his impressive Air Bourne finishing maneuver that has been used to defeat greats like Chris Jericho and Sheamus. He has nearly beaten his opponents in their own game and has also shined in the tag team division by dominating it with his fellow high-flying and quick athletic Kofi Kingston by capturing the WWE Tag Team Championship and called themselves Air Boom. The team defeated WWE's numerous tag teams to reach to the top of the tag team division. Bourne has been awarded with a Slammy for his impressive Air Bourne maneuver in his rookie year and has managed to become a contender for the ECW Championship in his rookie year. The high-flier has idolized the high-flying legend Rey Mysterio.

World Wrestling Entertainment (2008 - present)
ECW (2008 - 2009)

After competing in World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), Matt Sydal joined WWE and debuted in WWE on June 3, 2008 edition of ECW as a babyface. Sydal competed in his first ECW match, losing to Shelton Benjamin in a count-out. The following week, on June 10 edition of ECW, Sydal changed his ring name to Evan Bourne and joined the ECW roster. Bourne got his first win as Kofi Kingston and Bourne defeated Shelton Benjamin and Mike Knox in a tag team match. On June 17 edition of ECW, Bourne got his first win in singles competition, defeating Matt Striker.


After debuting in ECW, Bourne feuded with Mike Knox and Chavo Guerrero in the early part of his career and formed an alliance with fellow newcomer Ricky Ortiz. On August 26 edition of ECW, Bourne lost to The Miz in a Championship Scramble qualification match. On October 14 edition of ECW, Bourne defeated Chavo Guerrero to qualify for a spot as one of the options for the ECW Championship match at Cyber Sunday. At Cyber Sunday, Bourne received his first championship opportunity as he unsuccessfully challenged Matt Hardy for the ECW Championship. Bourne quickly became popular with the WWE Universe due to his high-flying skills and became a fan favorite that would lead him to become one of the top competitors of ECW and a contender for the ECW Championship.

Bourne suffered an ankle injury and was out of action for five months. Entering 2009, Bourne returned to WWE television on March 17 edition of ECW. Following his return, Bourne had short rivalries with the likes of Tyson Kidd, Paul Burchill and Mark Henry. On June 29 edition of Raw, Bourne was traded to the Raw brand in a 15-man Trade initiated by the Raw Owner Donald Trump.

Raw (2009 - present)
On June 29 edition of Raw, Bourne competed in his first match as part of the Raw roster, losing to Randy Orton in a Gauntlet match. After feuding with Jack Swagger and Chavo Guerrero, Bourne competed against Kofi Kingston in a Team Raw qualification match for Bragging Rights in a losing effort. At Survivor Series, Bourne was on John Morrison's Team Morrison, consisting of Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin and Finlay against The Miz's Team Miz, consisting of Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre in a Survivor Series match. Bourne was eliminated by McIntyre. Team Miz won. Miz, McIntyre and Sheamus survived the match.


The following night, on November 23 edition of Raw, Bourne lost to Randy Orton in a Breakthrough Battle Royal qualifying match. On December 29 edition of ECW, Bourne defeated Mike Knox to qualify for the ECW Homecoming. Entering 2010, Bourne participated in the ECW Homecoming Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender for the ECW Championship at Royal Rumble on January 12 edition of ECW. Bourne was eliminated by Kane. Ezekiel Jackson won the Battle Royal. At Royal Rumble, Bourne participated in his first Royal Rumble match as the #2 entrant. He lasted two minutes until he was eliminated by CM Punk. Edge won the Royal Rumble.

On March 8 edition of Raw, Bourne defeated William Regal to qualify for the Money in the Bank Ladder match. At WrestleMania XXVI, Bourne made his WrestleMania debut as he competed against Jack Swagger, Kane, Christian, Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin, Montel Vontavious Porter, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre in the 2010 Money in the Bank Ladder match. Swagger won the match. Bourne's status started to elevate as he began feuding with Chris Jericho. At Fatal 4-Way, Bourne defeated Jericho to get an upset victory. On June 21 edition of Raw, Bourne lost to Jericho in a rematch to end the rivalry.

At Money in the Bank, Bourne competed against The Miz, Edge, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, John Morrison, Mark Henry and Ted DiBiase in the 2010 Raw Money in the Bank Ladder match. Miz won the match. On July 26 edition of Raw, Bourne was on Team Raw, consisting of Mark Henry, Goldust, Jerry Lawler, Yoshi Tatsu and Hart Dynasty, against The Nexus in an Elimination match. Bourne was eliminated by Barrett. Nexus won the match. The entire Nexus survived the match.

Bourne formed a tag team with Mark Henry. At Night of Champions, Mark Henry and Bourne participated in a Tag Team Turmoil for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Henry and Bourne were eliminated by Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes for the win. On October 4 edition of Raw, Bourne participated in a Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender for the WWE Championship at Bragging Rights. Bourne was eliminated by Sheamus. Wade Barrett won the Battle Royal. The following week, on October 11 edition of Raw, Bourne lost to CM Punk in a Team Raw qualification match for Bragging Rights. After the match, Punk attacked Bourne and injured him by applying the Anaconda Vice. As a result, Bourne suffered a shoulder injury and was out of action for four months.

Entering 2011, Bourne made a surprise return to WWE television on February 28 edition of Raw. At the pre-show of WrestleMania XXVII, Bourne participated in a Battle Royal. He was eliminated by Sheamus. The Great Khali won the Battle Royal. On April 25 edition of Raw, Bourne participated in a Draft Pick Battle Royal. He was on Team Raw, consisting of Sheamus, The Great Khali, Mark Henry Santino Marella, Daniel Bryan, Vladimir Kozlov, Ted DiBiase and Yoshi Tatsu. Bourne was eliminated by Big Show. Team SmackDown! won. Big Show and Kofi Kingston won the Battle Royal.

Bourne began a rivalry with Jack Swagger, which culminated in a match between the two at Capitol Punishment, which Bourne won. At Money in the Bank, Bourne competed against Alberto Del Rio, Rey Mysterio, Jack Swagger, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth and Alex Riley in the 2011 Raw Money in the Bank Ladder match. ADR won the match. Bourne formed a tag team with Kofi Kingston and began pursuing the WWE Tag Team Championship.

On August 22 edition of Raw, Kofi Kingston and Bourne defeated David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty to win the WWE Tag Team Championship, thus Bourne won his first championship in WWE. After winning the championship, Bourne and Kingston named their tag team Air Boom after the WWE Universe voted it to be the team name. Air Boom successfully defended the WWE Tag Team Championship against Awesome Truth by disqualification at Night of Champions and Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger at Hell in a Cell and Vengeance. On November 1, Bourne was suspended by WWE for 30 days for violating the Wellness Policy.

Bourne returned to WWE television on December 5 edition of Raw. Air Boom began a rivalry with Primo and Epico. At Tribute to the Troops, Air Boom lost to Primo and Epico. At TLC, Air Boom successfully defended the WWE Tag Team Championship against Primo and Epico. Entering 2012, Air Boom lost the championship to Primo and Epico at January 15 house show. Air Boom's reign ended at 146 days. This ended Air Boom's nonstop tag team domination. On January 17, Bourne was suspended by WWE for 60 days for violating the Wellness Policy. During his injury, Bourne suffered a broken foot and was out of action.
